(More customer reviews)What I've played of this has been awesome so far.
Cons:
The roster is nowhere near as big as MVC2 with some obvious omissions. The game modes are a bit bare. I have yet to try it but I hear spectating is not an option (I really hope they fix this via a patch if this is true).
Also, let's face it....Capcom is going to milk us with DLC characters and stages in the future.
Pros:
So far everything seems a bit negative but the fighting which is the meat and potatoes of this game is wonderful. It is going to take some time to master all of these characters. At first I thought I was going to dislike the new control scheme with just a single L, M, H action button and the special button instead of the LP HP LK HK setup we were used to in MVC2 (or the other, deeper SSFIV setup with all six buttons) but in the ensuing chaos it actually works out well. Before you know it you are pulling off air combos and super moves and you won't care that the buttons seem limited.
I don't think I have to say much about the graphics. You've seen the videos. This is one flashy beautiful comic like game. I am sometimes catching myself getting beaten to a pulp because I am busy admiring the lush detailed backgrounds and the character models. So far I've only played the single player so I haven't had the chance to see others play while I watch. The super moves are sometimes so over the top that they make you chuckle. In a good way that is. (I'm looking at you Deadpool).
If I tire of this game and I start seeing that it is shallow I will certainly come back here and change my review. But for a first impression....it can't get better than this.
