(More customer reviews)Llamasoft were the brains behind Tempest 2000, arguably the most liked incarnation of Tempest. Now there's Space Giraffe, which is in the same vein. You control a ship (space giraffe?) situated on a set platform in various shapes (first level is flat, one is shaped like an apostrophe, etc), and you swivel your character around in order to shoot oncoming enemies. Complete with extremely weird sound effects and catchy electronic music, it's a very fun shooter. The only problem is that visibility can be very, very limited. Enemies and their bullets often blend in with the backgrounds, which are swirly psychedelic miasmas of color which almost take over the whole screen. You know the Xbox music visualizations? It's like playing a game with that as a background.
Overall, however, it's a lot of fun, and I suggest you download the demo over Xbox Marketplace to try it out and see if it's for you.
